There's nothing harmful in consuming sweet food in moderation but for some people with a sweet tooth, they cannot abstain from sweet food like some others and this love for sweets often leads to overconsumotion of sugary foods and drinks resulting in heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, obesity, weaker bones and teeth, etc. The sweet tooth condition is related to a hormone released in the liver.

I also found an interesting study from Indiana University, USA and wanted to share it with you here. Your love of sweets could be tied to your drinking habits.

Scientists looked at brain scans and found people who had a greater preference for extremely sweet tastes also drank more alcohol—though no one in the study was a heavy drinker. One possible explanation for the link: Sugar and booze both affect your brain’s opioid system (responsible for reward and addictive behaviors), as well as the feel-good neurotransmitter dopamine.

There is a way to control this hormone to avoid these sugar cravings and will power is the biggest factor. But more about it in our next post. For now enjoy this healthy and hearty sweet chocolate recipe.

The following recipe might help you with your sweet cravings while still allowing you to maintain healthy eating habits.
