So what if I was told you, you could enjoy all the goodness of yogurt while going completely dairy free. People are ditching dairy and opting for a more plant-based diet for many reasons - allergies, food preference, hormonal issues, etc.

Always look for any dairy alternative without sugar as manufacturers usually substitute the main ingredient dairy with sugar to obtain similar taste profile and mouthfeel. Alternatives for dairy free yogurt include- almonds, cashews, soy, coconut, flaxseed, or oats as the base. Soy based having more sugar and coconut-based having the least, so remember to read your nutritional food labels on the product.

Use the dairy free yogurt for recipes as you would a normal yogurt - with your morning breakfast oats, pumpkins seeds, blueberries or any other fruits of your liking. You can use it to thicken your sauces, gravies and soups. You can also use yogurt to marinate and grill, which adds the nice thick and creamy marinade and depth to your dishes as it helps the herbs and spices to mix and melt away on your grilled food.
